The Galleria Borghese presents the second part in Ten Great Exhibitions, and this time it is dedicated to Antonio Canova.
His most famous sculpture has to be his scandal-causing study of Pauline Bonaparte as Venus, (Paolina Borghese was Napoleon Bonaparte’s sister, and wife of Camillo Borghese, a Roman prince) a statue that has become the symbol of the Borghese Gallery. We can to admire not only his sculptures but also more than fifty paintings, drawings and clay models. Canova was famous for his marble sculptures that managed to make human skin and fleshin such a delicate manner.
